Jamie Kopman is a criminal defense lawyer working in Toronto and the GTA, including Scarborough, Brampton, Milton, Hamilton, Oshawa and Newmarket.

Jamie was called to the bar in 2016. After completing a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (B.A. Hons.) at Wilfrid Laurier University, Jamie travelled to one of Australia’s top law schools where he obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D) from Bond University. There, Jamie was a member of, and helped pioneer, the Bond University Legal Clinic, providing pro-bono legal services to members of the community.

 

Jamie completed his articles at a prominent placement in Toronto focusing on criminal and family law, prior to being called to the Ontario Bar in 2016. Since that time Jamie has successfully represented clients charged with, Sexual and Domestic Assault, Drug Offences, Fraud charges, including Murder. Given his background in community outreach, combined with his skilled level of advocacy and experience in the courtroom, it was only natural that Jamie would start KMS Legal with the intention of providing criminal, family and estates clientele with the best services both inside and outside of the courtroom.

 

Jamie has appeared as counsel and argued for the rights of his clients in front of Judges, Masters, in the Superior and Ontario Court of Justice, as well as a number of tribunals. Jamie has had the experience of defending a vast array of cases, including high-profile murder trials. Jamie passionately and fiercely advocates and fights for your interests in any legal matter. His experiences have proven to be very advantageous when both family and estates clientele are required to litigate through the court process.
